Reading Glasses

Half way through our semester we switched reading curriculum.  I was less than satisfied with what we had started with and our morning ended with frustration, on both ends. So I switched to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. We love this book! She was picking up on the words in the book but when we went to read in one of her books. Nothing.

The girl can spell words out loud,she is smart, she is solving word problems, so why isn't she reading yet?? I had convinced myself that reading is like potty training. She will do it when she is ready, and to not push it. 

After some thinking we went back to the eye doctor. After a very long visit we found out that her distance is great but when she goes to read, her eye muscle can't focus, resulting in frustration for her.  This whole time that's all it was? One week of reading glasses and she has started to read level one books to us! So thankful that all she needed were glasses!
