Pinterest Love

My sweet husband has been out of town quite a bit for some church camps which means a. I get lots done or b. I get nothing done and I spend my time pinning. A few weeks ago it was cloudy and somewhat cold so me and Miss Kk stayed inside, crocheted, and pinned! Here is a peek at what I've been pinning this week :)

I think this is such a neat idea for the garden. I hope it will save me some time pulling weeds

Such a good way to brush up on sight words this summer

I will be using this tutorial for my lil' sis's baby shower in a few weeks... I think this will be the perfect touch to the rustic/girly baby shower.

Are these not adorable?! Oh my goodness I'm in love with these! My niece MUST have one :)
what are you pinning this week?

Card Keepsake

Our family is a birthday card giving family.  We get cards for any and every occasion. KK loves the cards from her birthdays and random Halloween cards. She could spend tons of time just looking through her cards. It's cute.  I have saved basically every card and needed to find a way to save past cards and make them easy for her to look through when she wanted them.  Here is what you need.

Binder ring
cards
hole punch

Start out by punching holes in the corner of your cards

Add them to your binder rings

After all of your cards are added to your binder ring you have a nice little keepsake of all the fun cards you have received from family and friends over the years.

Kitchen reveal

It has been a few months since we have given our little kitchen a face-lift and I'm super excited to share the results.  Everyone was so bummed we were getting rid of our previous apple green color, but I needed something different, just a little pep paint if you will.  The new color is modern and cozy all at the same time.  It will definitely be a go to color in our future home! Ready for the before and afters?
BEFORE

See all of the green? Green walls, green, rug, green tea pot. LOVE green but after six years?

The coffee decor was given to us when we first moved in together, almost 7 years ago. It was
time for a non-theme kitchen.

AFTERS....

There's still a little green but I couldn't get rid of all of it :)

The rug I found at World Market, love it. Really wanted another one for my laundry room but it is
nowhere to be found on their website, must be discontinued :(

I love having the reminder every morning that God IS good all of the time.  Have you come across the lovely Anna White.  She is awesome. I want to be like her. She gives neat little plans for building anything you could ever ask for. I printed off this plan for $10 ledge shelves. It doesn't get much better than that boys and girls.  I would randomly sneak the plans in for my husband to see. He didn't even need the plans, little genius, but one day he surprised me with these beauties.

Paint Color: Martha Stewart Cement Gray
My cookbooks, tea cups, and wine fit perfectly up there. These shelves are my favorite thing in the kitchen. The realator was in disbelief when I told her the shelves will not stay when we sell :)

Back in the groove

I am back and feeling  little bit more alive from bed rest. Thankfully after a few weeks of getting back into a routine and around other humans I started to have the umph to start blogging again. It's been so nice to have this lovely new look too.  I am a sucker for chevron and try to put it in as many places as I can. House, decor, and when I saw this layout on etsy I loved it! Kaylah, from Rockboo Designs was so sweet and put up with my OCD of everything being centered. You can find her etsy store here. She has some cute pre-made layouts that you are sure to love!

Have you heard?

Have you heard why I have been MIA for the past few weeks?
We are Pregnant!!

Miss KK is going to be a big sis and the three of us could not be more
excited. We are due November 5th, just in time to enjoy Thanksgiving AND  Christmas
without all of the stress.

Just when we thought all hope was lost the Lord opened a few doors.
The pregnancy has been less than a piece of cake, with 5 weeks of
bed rest, limited activity, and all day sickness
All will be worth it right? For as long as we have wanted this,
I know it will. Thank you to all of my family and friends who carried
us through those five weeks of craziness.

New Look

GrowGiggles has a new look and I'm loving it! I hope all of you love it just as much.  There are still changes to be made on it so I ask for patience as I try to get the last details set :)) My pages and sidebars still lack a little bit but it won't take long!

Happy Tuesday!!

Diy Laundry Detergent {Recipe #2}

Do you remember my first recipe for homemade laundry detergent Here? I loved this recipe except for one thing. You have to shave the darn bar of soap every single time you make it.  It was a smidge time consuming but all was solved when I found this No grate laundry detergent recipe. My heart skipped a beat at the thought that there would no longer be any grating of the soap. The cleaning power is just as good too.

3 Tablespoons Borax
2 Tablespoons Dawn Dish Soap
3 Tablespoons Washing soda

Put these ingredients in a one gallun jug

I didn't have a funnel so I made a make shift one from a piece of paper
and it worked great for pouring in the borax and washing soda.

Add your Dawn dish soap and start boiling your four
cups of water. I use my tea kettle for this. It boils in no time

Pour four cups boiling water into the jug. Swirl until the ingredients
are dissolved in the liquid. Let liquid cool. Then fill almost to the top
with cold water. The bubbles with overflow out of the just but that's ok.

Use 1/2 a cup per load. The neat thing about this recipe is
that you can use any scent of Dawn dish soap. I prefer the blue
just because it has the most cleaning power for grease.
The suds are low but just remember, there do not have to be suds
for it to be cleaning your clothes!

*Note: after some research I'm finding that you shouldn't use bleach
with this. The ammonium in the Dawn will react. Next batch I will try and
substitute the Dawn soap (which isn't eco friendly) for Dr. Bonner's
castille soap.
